Science Club to send members to State Competition

The Science Club took 4th at a recent Science Olympiad in Moorhead

SHS Junior Kloe Wavra with her project. Wavra received a Red Award, the Geoscience Excellence Award and the Outstanding Achievement in Meteorological Science Award at the recent Regional Science Fair.

The Sacred Heart Science Club, headed by science instructor Sarina Bauer, has had an exciting first year, taking 4th in the recent Science Olympiad, competing in the regional fair and now sending some of our students to the State competition.

The Science Club had a great day at the Regional Science Fair at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Lily Grossbauer and Kannon Knutsvig received a 1st Place Blue award and are going to State competitions. Knutsvig  also received the Sustainability Solutions Award, Broadcom Master’s Award, and the Air Force Top 4 middle school project award.

Receiving Red Awards (2nd place), were Lily Zimprich, Imari Crayton, Daisy Hu and Harrison Punton. Gabby Zimprich also received a Red Award and is a first alternate to State. Hannah Hollcraft & Jade Zimprich received a Red Award and the “Taking the Pulse of the Planet” Award. Kloe Wavra received a Red Award, the Geoscience Excellence Award and t
he Outstanding Achievement in Metrological Science award. Receiving Green Awards (3rd Place) were: Kate Chen and Yuki Guan.
