God – the recognition that our spiritual being is our foundation and must be given just as much attention as math and reading. The basic purpose of Sacred Heart School since 1912 is the promotion of the Catholic faith to the young while creating community and learning of the highest quality.
Early Morning Care - staff starting at 7:30 a.m supervises children arriving early.
School Liturgies and Prayer Life has student participation.
High Standards of Classroom Discipline – the school has a high standard of student behavior and clear policy action. Teacher/principal/parent communication and support make for a good learning environment for all students.
Academic Expectations - just as the school has high standards for student behavior, academic expectations are high. Sacred Heart’s teachers want students to see success and know they are capable of many wonderful accomplishments. Sacred Heart is an opportunity to achieve in a loving and caring environment.
Elementary Visual Arts Program is a formal visual arts program teaching the basics of art and giving the children creative expression through varied experiences. Mrs. Mary Kulas directs this program.
High Achievement Scores - Sacred Heart uses the MAP computer test from NWEA for grades 2-11. Testing is done twice a year with immediate results. Grade 3 & 5 have done the Minnesota state MCA tests.
Talent Night! - is a family variety show created to raise funds for the school’s music program. This largely adult performance had been directed by Mrs. Gayle Gulbranson for the past 10 years.
High School Sports and Activities include yearbook, drama, speech, National Honor Society, cheerleading, football, volleyball, basketball, baseball & softball. Co-operatives with other schools include swimming, gymnastics, wrestling, and track.
Community is emphasized at Sacred Heart with special open houses, parent/student activities, and friendly communication between school and home. A sense of belonging and caring is nurtured by the school.
All are Welcome!: While Sacred Heart’s mission is to promote the faith to the youth of our parish in an excellent academic setting, Greater Grand Forks Catholics and Non-Catholics are invited and welcome!
Religious Studies: Religion is the thread of faith, our rich heritage that is woven into the fabric of our day. It encompasses prayer, liturgy, doctrine, scripture, work, play, and service to others.
Opportunity and leadership: Students attending Sacred Heart have the opportunity to become active in the school’s activities and grow in personal leadership skills because of that involvement. Because Sacred Heart School is small, students are encouraged to participate and become involved in school programs.
