Sacred Heart School is unique in its offering of music classes DAILY for students in grades K-6. What makes us special is that students not only learn music theory and about a wide variety of musical instruments, but they also learn to play a few of them — gaining a basic understanding of the instrument.
In addition to studying music theory and learning songs, our spacious music room allows students to learn piano, guitar, recorder and other instruments. Our 12 station 5-octave piano lab system allows them to practice music individually but in a group setting. Students in grade 1-6 receive a full unit of piano while students in grade 4-6 get an additional unit of guitar. For guitar the students learn the basic strum methods of guitar, how to read the music and how to switch between chords.
