Liturgy and Music Ministry
“The celebration of Mass… is the center of the whole of Christian life for the Church both universal and local, as well as for each of the faithful individually.” (GIRM 16)
“…full, conscious, and active participation that is required by the very nature of the Liturgy and to which the faithful…have a right and duty.” (GIRM 386)
The Liturgy is the center of our Christian life. One of the ways that the faithful are called to participate in this great action is by fulfilling a ministry at Mass and allowing the Holy Spirit to use you so that all might receive more abundant spiritual fruit from our God. All Parishioners are encouraged to join a ministry. Training is provided to all. If you have questions or would like to serve, please contact Daniel Ewens at email@example.com or 218-773-0877 in the Parish office.
**Attention ALL Liturgical Ministers**
Attention all Liturgical Ministers: Mark your calendars for Saturday October 13th for Sacred Heart’s Annual Fall Ministry Training and Retreat Day. Two Specific training sessions will be offered for all Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC’s) and Hospitality Ministers (ushers/greeters), one before and one after the retreat. Please plan to attend one of the trainings, or both if you serve in multiple Ministries. Every minister, including musicians, sacristans, and altar servers are welcome to attend the retreat portion. Times are as follows:
Training One- 9 – 10 AM
Retreat – 10 AM – 11:00 AM
Training Two – 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM
This day is for everyone, not just new Ministers. It is important to attend this day to ensure that all Ministers are on the same page, to make sure all Ministers are up to date on any changes or corrections to practice, and to better understand why we serve in Ministry. It is important to avoid complacency in service, and to seek constant Spiritual Renewal, especially in this Jubilee year.
