Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Team Member: Assisting adults who are seeking full communion in the Roman Catholic Church by: offering hospitality, sponsoring a candidate, sharing scripture reflection, or being a catechist. RCIA meets on Tuesday nights.
Bible Study: Throughout the year, series of bible studies will be held. Consider leading a small group yourself, or sign up to join a small group.
Marriage Preparation Sponsor Couples: As couples prepare for the sacrament of marriage, they complete a pre-marriage inventory, which is a series of questions that address various aspects of their relationship. They then meet with a sponsor couple to talk about the inventory and other areas of married life. A total of 3-5 hours is needed for each couple and training is provided.
Baptism Preparation Sponsor Couples: When parents seek baptism for their children at Sacred Heart, they are asked to take a class detailing the importance of baptism within the Christian life. The class is taught couple-to-couple by various couples who serve as Baptism preparation sponsors. A total of 1-2 hours, once every month or two months is required of the Baptism preparation sponsor couple when teaching the class. Training and materials will be provided by the parish.
Parish Retreats: Various one day retreats are held for parishioners to deepen their spiritual life. Assistance is needed for small group leaders, presenters, and meal preparation.
Young Adult Ministry: Aimed toward adults in their 20s and 30s, this group works to create opportunities for young adults to grow in their faith as well as create a community of young adults who are able to support one another. Assistance is needed for planning and hosting events like Theology on Tap, social outings, and prayer experiences.
Adoration: Tuesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
Divorce Survival Ministry: A sixteen week course to help rebuild your life. The class is held once a year. Call the parish office to reserve your spot in this ministry.
