Sacred Heart Church is a 1200 family Roman Catholic Parish located in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. East Grand Forks is located in northwest Minnesota along the border of North Dakota and the Red River of the North.

Sacred Heart Catholic Parish was started in 1893. It also has a school, Sacred Heart School, which started in 1912. Sacred Heart School is a daycare, pre-school, elementary, and high school program.

Sacred Heart School is unique because it is a combined elementary and high school program supported by a single parish. While multiple parishes today support most of the American Catholic high schools, Sacred Heart has continued to be primarily supported by the parish, families, friends, and alumni. There are twenty-two Catholic High Schools in Minnesota and four in North Dakota.

There are 7,799 Catholic Schools in the United States: of these 6,534 are elementary/middle schools, and 1,255 are secondary schools.

Crucifix Gifted to Parish

In the summer of 2007, Sacred Heart parish community received the special gift of a new crucifix for the whole faith community to enjoy for many years. The crucifix was blessed on September 9, 2007 at the 10:30 Mass. Much gratitude is given to parishioners, Terry Greenwood and Merle Carter, for their professional craftsmanship in building the beautiful wooden cross, and to all the other parishioners who volunteered to help hang the new crucifix in its new home, (Terry Greenwood, Bill Kuznia, John Lunski, Alex Kuznia, Zachary Kuznia, Punky Beauchamp, Merle Carter and Duane Jeffrey).
