Sacred Heart Famous Fish Fry

Thank you for all the past and future support of Sacred Heart athletics and especially with Sacred Heart Athletic Club Fish Frys.   This is a fun event that takes place for six Fridays during Lent.  This year we begin Feb. 16 and run through March 23. We serve from 500 to 1000 meals each Friday and this year we will be having the drive-thru/take-out over at the elementary doors.  Many alumni, past parents, friends of SH, and most importantly current parents and athletes host this event and put in many hours for our athletic programs. We assign a sport or multiple sports to work each of the Fridays, however, if your family isn’t available during your designated Friday you can feel free to choose a different Friday to help out.   The schedule and parent sign-ups are at the bottom of this email.

The Swim team had a really good day at the Century Invitational hosted by Bismarck Century Patriots. They posted multiple season personal records along with improving on many of the technical aspects. Levi Dallum had PR efforts in 3 of his swims Friday but missed state by a few seconds. His enthusiasm for focusing on those things he needs to be doing to improve is inspirational as we go through this tough part of the season.

Saturday we had our 3rd annual Eagle Archery Classic shoot and we had some great results from our Eagle Archers.  We are really working hard practicing and the results are starting to show in competition.

Here are the highlights: Bella Effhauser shot a 242, her personal best, and took first place in elementary girls.  Logan Armstrong shot a 238, which was his personal best, and took first place in elementary boys. Naomi Lee shot a 258 and took 3rd place in high school girls and was also 3rd overall in all girls shooting Saturday. Jake Satterland shot a 230, his personal best, and took 2nd place in elementary boys. Emily Novak shot a 210 and took 2nd place in elementary girls. Next competition will be Feb 17 in Hawley.

The boys basketball team scored 51 second half points went on to win 77-55 against BGMR in last night's game. Oscar Ortiz lit it up in the second half and led us with 18 points for the game off the bench. It was a great team win! The Eagles move to 19-1 on the season and have a very tough road game Saturday at Bagley with tip-off set for 1:30pm. Big congratulations to Jack Gerber who finished with 14 points in Monday's win against Goodridge/Grygla. He captured his 1000th point of his career!

The girls basketball team fell to Thompson on Monday night. The Eagles were led by Sydney Lloyd with10 pts, Jessica Remer added 9 pts and 6 rebounds, Katelyn Rudolph also grabbed 6 rebounds. The Eagles never gave up fighting to the end against a talented Thompson team. Up next the Eagles travel to Red Lake County Central tonight.
