All Schools Mass at SHS TODAY!

We have had an amazing Catholic School's week at SHS! Tomorrow our week will wrap up with the All School Mass here at SHS at 1:15 p.m. We've loved every minute of a week filled with Praise & Worship, special dress days, Kookie Olympics, classroom reading, and 6th grade vs. parents basketball. The week is dedicated to the fun and celebration of Catholic education!

Our final event of the week is today's ALL SCHOOL Mass at SHS at 1:15 in the Merth Gymnasium. Bishop Hoeppner will be joining us along with area priests in a Mass which wraps up the week celebrating Catholic education.

"Know Your Faith" Champs

Between 1900-1999, a period of 100 years, how many popes took the name Pius, and of those Pope's which one of them by name reigned the longest? Do you know the answer? … Because SACRED HEART juniors, Jack, Lily, and Bill know!

Congratulations to Sacred Heart juniors Bill White, Lily Zimprich, and Jack White who knew the answer and were the only team to correctly guess Bishop Kagan’s final round question in the Regional Know Your Faith Challenge in Dickinson. They not only dominated the entire competition, only getting one question wrong, but earned a score of 1,600 — the highest score ever recorded by a team in the competition. It’s Sacred Heart’s second year participating in the competition which pits the school’s of Dickinson Trinity, Minot Bishop Ryan, Bismarck St. Mary’s, Fargo Shanley, and East Grand Forks Sacred Heart in a Catholic trivia challenge. The trophy will stay at Sacred Heart until next year when challenge moves to Fargo Shanley. Video coverage of the event is available HERE.

Wrestling update: West Fargo defeated GF Central 50-17 although the matches were a lot closer than the score would indicate. Will Rohrich and Grant both fell in their matches. Will lost in a tough battle 3-2

The boys basketball update team picked up their 10th consecutive victory Tuesday night with an 83-59 win over the BGMR Gators. The Eagles shot well from the field and were led by Jordan Tomkinson with 27 points, Jack Gerber with 17, Evan Sczepanski 13 and Brendin Bethke with 11. The Eagles have now outdone their win total from last season and are ranked 10th in the state for Class A. They will travel to Clearbroo tonight and play Win-E-Mac Saturday at Grand Forks Central HS.

The girls basketball team lost a physical battle last night to Red Lake Falls 41-49. The Eagles came out hard in the first half scoring and rebounding well. They fell behind in the second half but the girls never gave up. Jessica Remer led the team in scoring with 13 points, Sydney Lloyd added 10 points and Maddi Mitzel, Katelyn Rudolph, and Macyn Bloom all scored 6 points. Next week the girls have home games Monday and Thursday; Hope you can be there to cheer them on!
